Teaser recipes from "Guy Fieri Food"

Guy Fieri Food: Cookin' It, Livin' It, Lovin' It is formally released today, and we've collected a few of the 150 Guy Fieri recipes from the new cookbook.

Guy Fieri's cutlery partner, ErgoChef.com, shared Firecracker Wings in their blog.

Chicken wings, chili-garlic sauce, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, vinegar and ginger are combined and grilled.

Firecracker wings aren't new, but this recipe from Guy Fieri is.

I gotta tell ya, I used to think that wings had to be fried. (Probably because most grilled wings are burned and chewy and lack flavor.) So I set out to make some that will rock ’n’ roll without getting fried. - Guy Fieri

Guy's affiliation with NBC (Minute to Win It) prompted MSNBC.com to share two recipes, Sangria Glazed Shrimp and Johnny Garlic's Grilled Peppered Tri-tip with Cabernet-balasmic Reduction and Fried Baby Spinach.

Shrimp are glazed with a full-bodied red wine, apple juice, orange juice, sherry, brown sugar and honey and cooked with onion, red bell pepper and a green apple.

This recipe was first seen on Guy's Big Bite in 2007.

And a tri-tip (or flank steak) is cut and grilled with peppercorns, minced red onion, garlic, cabernet sauvignon, balsamic vinegar and a bit of dark brown sugar.

Select Costcos are selling a marinaded Guy Fieri tri-tip; check your local store.

This recipe was featured on the Sonoma Steer episode of Guy's Big Bite in 2007.

Yahoo.com released Guy's S'more Pizza as their teaser recipe. A dessert pizza, with chocolate, marshmallows, slivered almonds, graham crackers, chili and cayenne pepper.

Chili and cayenne add a "kicker" that will make you make you think you're sitting at the campfire. - Guy Fieri

Guy made this dessert pizza on the Pizza, Pizza! episode of Guy's Big Bite with his buddy Stretch, of Grinders in Kansas City, MO. It was also featured in a segment on Good Morning America with Guy Fieri in 2009. It's a fan favorite!

Galtime.com posted Ginger Pork Potstickers, with an offer to win a free copy of "Guy Fieri Food!" Click here for sweepstakes details and for more sneak peek recipes this week.

Ground pork is blended with onion, ginger, soy sauce, garlic and green onion, wrapped, boiled and browned.

This recipe was featured on Guy's Big Bite, Amazin' Asian. When learning Japanese cooking, Guy recalls, "let’s get the food processor and chop that ginger!" but that wasn’t how it was done. Working with her gave me a lot of perspective about how food is respected in Japan. It was a very calming experience, and that’s part of what makes Japanese food work and come together so beautifully.

Lastly, Cooking.com shares Guy's recipe for Grilled Romaine with Blue Cheese-Bacon Vinaigrette, featured from the very 1st season of Guy's Big Bite, Bloody Mary Steaks.

Guy Fieri to cook on The Jay Leno Show

Guy Fieri will be on The Jay Leno Show (website) tonight, Tuesday, January 5, 2010. According to Guy's press agent, "Want to know how to deep fry Oreos, pizza or cheesecake? Tonight @ChefGuyFieri will teach Kim Kardashian on Leno!"

I'm sure Guy will get a shout out for his new prime time game show on NBC (the same network as the Jay Leno Show), Perfect 10. (Er, or is that Minute To Win It - tweet) Kim Kardashian is the special guest and the featured segment is with Jillian Michaels.

The last time Guy Fieri was on The Jay Leno Show was for the Ten @ Ten: Guy Fieri, on November 11, 2009. Two of my favorite questions?

Jay: Choose A, B or C. Johnny Garlic's is...
A) The name of one of your restaurants
B) A dish you created
C) The worst name ever for a men's cologne

Guy: I wish it was C, because that would be money. But it's actually A, the name of my restaurant.

...

Jay: Choose A, B or C. number ten. The Awesome Pretzel is...
A) A three-wheel bicycle cart your dad built for you so you could sell pretzels
B) A new show by Cirque du Soleil
C) $200 at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch brothel

Guy: [laughing] I don't even want to know how C was dreamed up. But it was actually A, the name of my pretzel business when I was a kid. The Awesome Pretzel.

Click here to read the full transcript.

Guy Fieri also made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in March 2009, where he demonstrated Pork En Fuego.

In other news:

On New Year's Eve, Santa Rosa's newspaper, the Press Democrat, caught up with Guy Fieri and his family, celebrating Ryder's (Guy's son's) 4th birthday.

When asked about Perfect 10, Guy said that he's "been sitting on this for about two and a half months." He went on to say a very cool set is being built in a 350-seat studio in Los Angeles. Shooting for the show starts mid-January, which doesn't yet have a premiere date.

The article also mentioned that Guy Fieri is preparing to visit the White House and the Obamas to promote cooking with kids.

It has been a long-time goal of Guy's to make a national Cook With Your Kids Day. The first step was for California to recognize the day on a state level. In March of 2008, Governor Schwarzenegger teamed up with Guy Fieri on the steps of The State Capitol in Sacramento, California, for Ag Day.

Click here for a video with Guy Fieri from Ag Day 2008, and click here for a Guy Fieri recipe, Chicken Avocado Egg Rolls, featuring California-grown wild rice.

In May 2009, Guy Fieri teamed up again with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver passing a resolution that the second Saturday in May be proclaimed "Cook With Your Kids Day" in California. Now it's straight to the top. Guy Fieri, best of luck!

Elsewhere:

The organizers of an unprecedented United Way fundraiser in Knoxville, TN, raised 11.8 million dollars. John F. Lansing , president of Knoxville-based Scripps Networks who served as chairman for the 2009 United Way of Greater Knoxville Campaign wrote, "It was a truly historic moment during the opening days of the campaign when all of the local media came together to create the first-ever United Way telethon/radiothon hosted graciously by WNOX's Hallerin Hill and Food Network's Guy Fieri." The telethon aired in Knoxville on September 21, 2009.

Updates on the NYC Wine & Food Festival

Recently, the Metromix New York asked Guy Fieri a few questions about the upcoming 2nd annual New York City Wine & Food Festival.

    Newyork.metromix.com
Having attended last year's NYC Wine & Food Festival, what can people expect?

"It's everything from wine tastings and pairings to demos and late-night parties. I went to the Burger Bash last year, where Katie Lee took it all."

What are you going to serve at Chelsea After Dark?

"It could be anything from Italian-Mexican fusion to some crazy pasta choices to some finger food. We really haven't come up with the menu. But if you are the guy who is going to kick off the New York Wine and Food Fest, you better bring your guns. And when I say bring the guns, I don't mean those kind of guns. You can't start the Super Bowl without fireworks."

Let's focus on one dish that you could see yourself making?

"You go to these events and often don't get enough substance. I'm a big pasta fan, so I think the chipotle penne pasta with shrimp and Louisiana hot links could work. Something in the spicy, creamy, fusion category. That would go over well!"

I just checked ticket availability today.

The $280 Guy Fieri Package is SOLD OUT.
The $95 Chelsea Market After Dark, presented by the Food Network, hosted by Guy Fieri and Sandra Lee is SOLD OUT.
The $35 Culinary Demonstrations hosted by Guy Fieri are SOLD OUT.

The Book Signings at the Norwegian Cruise Line Welcome Center (Saturday) are complimentary, but only available to those who have tickets to at least one of the Festival's events. Guy Fieri is scheduled to sign books at 6:00 p.m. More book signing info here.

Find out more at www.nycwineandfoodfestival.com. But if you're looking for alternative ways to attend, here are a few creative ideas.
