Where can I find the cookware used on Guy's Big Bites?

Dora said...

Anon 9:59, There is no Guy's Big Bite line of cookware available at this time. I've put in a request at the Food Network; give me a few days to get a response? And we'll see if we can't piece some things together.

Was there a particular piece that interested you?

Anonymous said...

The entire set he uses actually. Its a stainless steel set with what looks like a brushed stainless bottom about an inch or so up the side. They're not listed on Food Network and I cant seem to find them online.

Thank you too for checking for me.

Does anyone know the name of the band that plays the music on his shows?

Anon 4:18, Neil Perry, FN Sound Designer/ Music Composer, writes, records, produces, mixes and performs the music for most of the shows that get produced in the Food Network studios: Guys Big Bite, Tyler’s Ultimate, Cooking For Real, Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, etc.

Hey Dora, any luck on the cookware set Guy uses in Guy's Big Bite? I've been searching and searching but haven't been able to find them anywhere.

Thanks.

Does anyone know how tall he is? I can't tell from the show and it's driving me nuts!

I've met Guy several times. I don't know his height exactly, but I'd estimate 5'9", maybe 5'10".

FYI, you don't roll a single "r" in Spanish unless it's at the beginning of a word. Maybe you do in Italian, but not in Spanish. In Spanish, you do roll a double "r" in the middle of a word. Of course, Fieri is Italian.

Guy was wearing a grey shirt w/ Santa on the back on his Christmas show. Can you tell us the brands?

Dora said...

Dean's Dashes, oh wow! Um, which Christmas show? Guy's Big Bite? One of the Triple D shows? Dinner Impossible? The shirt you describe doesn't ring any bells, but if I knew which show, I'm happy to do the research for you.
Best,

I really wish the food network would come out with a DVD of "Guy's Big Bite" episodes. Has anyone heard about anything like that?

Dora said...

Anon 6:47, haven't even heard a whisper about it, although I think you're right; I think it would sell very well.

For the time being, the best you can do is to DVR the weekday afternoon episodes and create your own DVD of them.

I will make a prediction, though. Guy is currently working on his own cookbook of his own recipes. And Food Network is really good about doing companion marketing - if there will be a DVD of Guy's Big Bite for sale, I'd anticipate it's release to coincide with the release of Guy's cookbook.

Dean's Dashes said...

I'm 90% sure it was Guy's Big Bite where he was wearing the grey shirt w/ Santa on the back. Very classy shirt.

Dora said...

Hello Anon 9:22,

I haven't been able to find info on the surface material itself - I'll write in and see what I can find. (Guy will be shooting new GBB episodes soon, so this is a good time to ask.)

There is mention of the new large cutting board in these to segments of the FN Dish:

and

What kinds of things does Guy keep in his squirt bottles besides balsalmic vinegar and olive oil?

Justin Atkinson said...

I've been trying to figure out what kind of manual citrus juicer Guy uses on Big Bite. He sings its praises enough you figure he woulda named it by now, but I must've missed it if he did.

Linda said...

Justin,

Just Google "citrus squeezer" and you'll find a ton of options from online stores. Guy uses the enameled ones (color coded, green is small, yellow is medium and orange is large) But I like Oxo's Good Grips squeezer. Amazon sells 'em for about $15.

Why does Guy have a naked picture of his dead sister tattooed on his forearm?

Dora said...

St.Paul, ok. I'll play; but don't try my patience beyond this. The image isn't of a naked woman. It's inspired by Botticelli's "Birth of Venus," which itself is inspired by both Praxiteles' sculpture of Aphrodite and the Venus de' Medici.
Perhaps you would be well-served to take an Art History or Art Appreciation class at your nearest community college.

Anonymous said...

Definitely curious about what Guy has in the squirt bottles besides Vegetable Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Vinegar. They are money to use in the kitchen and I have adopted the method. He has like 8 of them - so what am I missing?
Thanks!
