Guy Fieri to emcee sustainability event at Monterey Bay Aquarium

Guy Fieri will be a special guest and celebrity emcee at The Monterey Bay Aquarium's annual event, Cooking For Solutions. This is the ninth Cooking for Solutions celebration, a culinary event in support of sound sustainability practices, how your food choices protect the health of the soil, water and ocean wildlife. May 21 - 22, 2010.

Cooking for Solutions supports the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program (website), which empowers seafood consumers and businesses to make choices for healthy oceans. Click here to read an interview with Guy Fieri on sustainability.

Featured chefs at the 2010 event:
Honored Chef of the Year Suzanne Goin has been recognized by the James Beard Foundation as California’s best chef, and for her cookbook, Sunday Suppers at Lucques.

Honored Educator of the Year Rick Bayless was honored by the Beard Foundation and International Association of Culinary Professionals as Humanitarian of the Year, as well as for his six definitive cookbooks on Mexican cooking.

These chefs have been selected and recognized by the Aquarium for their leadership in promoting cuisine that protects the health of the ocean and the soil. Also scheduled to appaear are over a dozen chefs from around the country recognized for and dedicated to sustainable fishing and farming practices, including Sam Choy, Kevin Gillespie, Rick Moonen and more.
