The Food Network hosts two very popular food festivals each year: the South Beach Wine & Food Festival in the spring and the Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival in the fall. This will be the 3rd year for the event in NYC, October 7-10, 2010.
Last year's New York festival built "a donation of close to $1 million to the Food Bank For New York City and Share Our Strength®," says Brooke Johnson, President of Food Network.
Guy Fieri is set to host the closing party, Sunday, October 10, 2010, in addition to other events and cooking demonstrations to be announced.
Tickets to all festival events go on sale June 21st at www.nycwineandfoodfestival.com, or by phone at (866) 969-2933. A sneak preview of all event development can be found by following founder and director Lee Schrager on Twitter: @Lee_Schrager.
The Washingtonian recently reported that a D.C. restaurant will film their episode for Diners, Drive-ins and Dives this week and next. The Tune Inn, a 63-year-old dive bar & restaurant on Capitol Hill, also on Esquire magazine's top 100 bars list, is known for its burgers and laid-back ambiance.

Production crews typically arrive one or two days in advance of Guy Fieri to get "beauty shots" of the food and segments of diners' eating and comments. Guy Fieri is scheduled (subject to change) to film his segments in the kitchen on Wednesday, May 5, 2010.
Vivian Myrtetus, deputy chief of staff to Sen. George LeMieux, explains: 'Chef Guy Fieri from the Food Network was in town shooting an upcoming episode of his hit show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives at the Tune Inn. LeMieux used to go there when he was a law student and loves the burgers at the restaurant. Between floor speech and meetings yesterday, Fieri interviewed him for the episode. After filming wrapped up, the host drove George back to the Capitol in his classic ’67 Camaro. Fieri tweeted about it yesterday.'

A nearby BBQ joint, Dixie Bones in Virginia, has also been interviewed and approved for the show. However, the logistics and time frame for taping their episode is still up in the air.
Diners, Drive-ins & Dives called today and stated they could not schedule the production this spring. They don't know when they will be scheduling more shoots in our area. They will call us.
Now, I've been riding shotgun in that '67 Camaro for quite some time, and I've never seen the production crew travel to an area to shoot only one or two restaurants. I expect there are another four or five locations in the Washington D.C. metro area that will be shot for the show.
Tips? Post in the comments section.
In recent months, Diners, Drive-ins and Dives shooting schedule and taping locations have been kept under tighter wraps. Too much noise from gawkers and camera clicks can interfere with the sound quality of the show.

And the Vancouver Sun recently ran a basic interview with Guy Fieri about Diners, Drive-ins and Dives and his recent visit to Vancouver during the Winter Olympics.
"When I came back from the Olympics, the first thing I said to the producers was, ‘Do you know how many fans we have in Canada?’"
Well hells bells, Guy. I could have told you that! :) Roughly 20% of my readership is from Canada.
Starting next week, the Food Network will air a few re-runs of Guy Off the Hook in May 2010, during the weekday time slot for Guy's Big Bite, 3pm/2c. The one-season show ran during the Fall of 2008, where Guy Fieri prepared some of his favorite recipes before a live studio audience.
The episodes were taped at the Food Network studios above Chelsea Market in New York City, the same studio where Guy's Big Bite was taped, previous to this most current season. Audience members had close-up seats, getting a feel for what a live Guy Fieri food demonstration is like. May 04 - Mucho Mexicano May 14 - Downhome Diner May 21 - Far East, Far Out May 28 - Guy's Big Easy
Although the show was not renewed for a second season, by all reports, the audience members had a blast. One conjectures that Fieri's high-energy food demo's just didn't translate on to the television screen.
Via Twitter, pacificwinefood - Culinary Rock Star @chefguyfieri will be closing out our show on Sunday, September 19! That will be amazing!!! Love you Chef!
*Update* The dates of this event have changed to January 6-9, 2011.

“Putting on a show for my fans that marries food and rock-n-roll with blow-your-mind entertainment is a dream come true.” - Guy Fieri
Scripps Network, the "mother ship" to the Food Network, The Travel Channel and more, is launching a re-vamp to FLN (Fine Living Network), to be called The Cooking Channel. Scripps has been flirting with advertisers at events called "up fronts," in a few major cities around the country.
Yesterday, Tuesday April 20, 2010, Scripps held their "up front" in New York City. Guy Fieri was there, and so was Mediapost at the event, writing in part:
Scripps brought out an early dig at competitors with a note that others may have two-hour presentations, but they're still lower in ratings than Scripps. They aimed for showcasing their content, rather than their celebrity talent. Make no mistake, though, there were celebrities there. And I stalked them...
First up, Adam Richman. My nephew, Ben, loves "Man vs Food." In fact, along with my other nephew, Carson, Food Network and the Travel Channel are creating lifetime viewers. Some people bond with their nieces and nephews over sports or school or booger jokes (OK, there's no drought of those in my family circle), but I bond with mine over burning-mouth wing competition stories or cheese grits from Guy Fieri's "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives."
I printed out signs ahead of time for Richman and Fieri to pose with, and both obliged at 8:30 a.m. with welcoming smiles -- and, in the case of the platinum-spiked Fieri, twinkling eyes, a barking guffaw, and, you got it, one-of-a-kind autographs complete with a doodle. I mean, seriously, who is so gracious? That guy!
"Next year," roared Fieri at his turn on the stage, "We're going to have a full bar over there and Kings of Leon up here!"
Much to the amazement of many, it appears as if Guy Fieri will NOT have a new show on the Cooking Channel. Perhaps the ones he has already are enough, eh?
We also received an encouraging tweet:
Drew_Estate_Dav - @FansOfGuyFieri total class act. I've met countless celebrities that are complete jerks but he was great.
David, we're so glad to hear! Not everyone always have positive experiences when meeting celebrities, certainly. And I can only express pleasure that you had a positive one with Guy.
Haha, I've received 23 emails in the last 24 hours asking, "What is Guy Fieri doing in Philly and New York?" Readers, I'm not privy to inside information, but here is what I do know, from the Twitter Trail:
audiopostmaja - Early morning VO [that's Voice Over ~D] session with Guy Fieri for "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" - awesome dude!
csharpfritz - Wow... Guy Fieri just dropped by @933WMMR to visit this morning.. Great job @kathyromanowmmr @CaseyboyWMMR and @MarisaMagnatta !

shelbyabbott - Just met Guy Fieri from the Food Network! ... Great meeting this dude...killer necklace!
JonesNewYork - Just shot Guy Fieri for an upcoming PSA with teachers count this past weekend! So cool! Can't wait to see the pictures!
amilya - Had to much fun with William Morris and Guy Fieri today today Big squishy hugs!
From Philadelphia, Guy Fieri moved on to New York City.
ChefGuyFieri - Cookin dinner with the cool cats "Kings of Leon" at food network kitchens. Great dudes, 8 of my fav dishes! off da hooks times!
The Kings of Leon (website) are a southern rock / alt. rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, perhaps best known for the songs "Sex on Fire", "Use Somebody" and "Notion." What they have to do with the Food Network, I do not know.
And this morning, the Food Network was up early for Scripps' NYC upfront presentation; a big day for the Cooking Channel.
carrieFN - Guy fieri, adam richman (man v food) and candice olson (hgtv) are here! Adam is really cute
socialmedium - Adam richman wins for most dapper. Guy Fieri actually took the time to draw something for my nephews. What a sweet guy.
ginagaran - Doing a morning shoot with Adam 'Man vs. Food' Richman, Guy Fieri and Candice Olson. So sweet, but dolls are easier!
You know this Guy can cook...but he also loves to camp. So for Guy Fieri's outdoor adventures, he's cooking up a menu complete with his Fa-Guy-ta Chili, Spanish Caeser with Chickpea Croutons, and a terrific Tea Total-ler cocktail to keep the campfire comradery crankin'.
Guy Fieri kicked off the food and wine festival at Disney's California Adventures this weekend with two demonstrations, Friday and Saturday, April 16 and 17, 2010.

Access Hollywood reported yesterday that Kevin Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers fame, will play on Guy Fieri's Minute to Win It on Sunday, May 23May 12, 2010. Minute to Win It airs on NBC.
Kevin will be playing for Change for the Children Foundation (website), a charitable organization by The Jonas Brothers which "supports programs that motivate and inspire children to face adversity with confidence, determination and a will to succeed."
In spite of less-than-enthusiastic reviews of the show by critics, Minute to Win It has continued to draw 6 - 7 million viewers each night it has aired. A blogger recently noted that
an entire cottage industry has sprung up on the web showcasing actual clips from the program and showing us how we can hone the skills necessary to beat the clock. It may be the first time in history where the host of a studio TV show reminds us to "Please. Try this at home."
I've long contended that people are going to love the games. LOVE THE GAMES! And they do. This spark from such a well-known and youthful celebrity will certainly push the ratings.
Score, Mr. Craig Plestis, executive producer, score.
On a programming note, Minute to Win It is back to airing on both regular Sundays and off-n-on Wednesdays.
Bid for charity! You and a guest will meet Guy Fieri on the set of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives in Detroit, Michigan, June 29 - July 1, 2010.

Those who are fans of Guy Fieri know that he frequently travels with a crew, known as The Krew, The Kulinary Gangstas, an entourage.
Ozersky.TV caught up with Guy Fieri to find out his tips and tricks for keeping a happy and functioning entourage at the 2010 SoBe Wine and Food Festival in Miami, Florida, reported by Ben Leventhal, co-founder of the influential Eater blog.
Fieri contends that everyone in the entourage needs a:
1. Name 2. Position 3. Responsibility
and that it's important to have a mover, a shaker and a pusher, and that it's also important to have a good bail bondsman, lock smith ... and someone with a lot of money.

I've been enjoying Ultimate Recipe Showdown this season. With all the press over Minute to Win It and the already popular Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, URS just seems to get the short end of the food media stick.
So I was quite pleased to see this interview with Kerstin Sinkevicius, of Boston, Mass, a competitor on this week's episode of Ultimate Recipe Showdown, Cakes and Desserts.
We'll also meet Andria Gaskins, Kathi Jones-DelMonte and Jade Thompson in this week's episode; click here. Find out more, All About Ultimate Recipe Showdown.
And while I have your attention, I'm looking for a recipe for a cake: one that's light, airy, fluffy and moist and tastes exactly like a chocolate chip cookie. Is there one out there?
NBC Universal and Elizabeth Murdoch's Shine have signed a deal that will see Shine's German division produce a local-language version of NBC's "Minute to Win It" format for German commercial broadcaster Sat.1.
The agreement marks the first international sale for the NBC show, which the U.S. Network recently renewed for a second season.
Sat.1 has commissioned five episodes of the German version of "Minute to Win It." The German show, whose title translates a "The Perfect Minute," will premiere in a two-hour primetime slot on Sat.1 April 30, 2010.
Shine Germany, based in Cologne, is also adapting the NBC Universal format "Perfect 10" for Sat.1.
As for our own U.S. version of Minute to Win It, did you notice some subtle changes in last night's episode? (4/7/10) Guy Fieri had some voice overs, I noticed.
And it appears as if the episodes have been re-edited - the episode description on TV Guide and similar television programming sites did not match the episode we saw.
I just saw today that the "game agent" / model, Ling, is missing from the main page of the Minute to Win It website. There have been no reports on why that may be.
Where's Ling?
More changes to come, I'm sure.
As for Wednesday's Minute to Win It network TV ratings: FOX: "Human Target" (7.7 million viewers, 4.7/8) CBS: "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (6.1 million, 4.0/7)/"Accidentally on Purpose" (6.2 million, 4.0/7) NBC: "Minute to Win It" (5.9 million, 3.8/6) ABC: "Modern Family" rerun (5.1 million, 3.3/6)/"The Middle" rerun (5.1 million, 3.3/6) The CW: "America's Next Top Model" (3.35 million, 2.3/4)
18-49 leader: "Human Target" (2.2)
I try to keep this page up to date with Minute to Win It information, so if you're a Minute to Win It fan, you can bookmark that page and visit it frequently.
