Fan questions, Mid-November, 2011
I've added a new page to this blog, Have a Question? At the end of each month (and sometimes part-way thru!), I'll share what fans are asking and what answers I could find for them. [Some answers are edited for brevity. ~D]
Ron from Ft Worth asked, "How do I get the cheese recipe at Cafe Rakka as seen on the Sauced and Spiced episode."
Our answer: Food Network didn't make that recipe available to the public. I'd suggest contacting the restaurant directly:
Cafe Rakka - Sauced and Spiced
Best of luck! And let us know the results?
-------------------------------------------------------
Lee from Woodstock asked, "What's Guys receipe for exercise?"
Our answer: Guy is known to do cardio workouts about three times each week. He and his family also enjoy outdoor activities like boating, hiking and dirt biking.
-------------------------------------------------------
Jim from Philadelphia wrote, "On November 5 there was a spice leaf used in a bean recipe that is supposed to reduce gas. What was it?
thanks.. "
Our answer: I'm sure it was epazote, pronounced "eh-paw-ZOH-teh." The recipe from the show hasn't been made available on FoodNetwork.com, but here are a few recipes that use this herb - http://www.foodnetwork.com/search/delegate.do?Nr=Record%20Type:Result&N=0&fnSearchString=epazote.
-------------------------------------------------------
Jaci from AZ asked, "Hi! I am looking to find out where and what episode I saw this sauce on. It was an episode I saw the week of 10/31/11-11/6/11. They were making a salsa or sauce that people dip stuff in. It had Habanero and orange juice in it. Can you please tell me what episode that was on! I'd love to try it! :) Thank you!"
Our answer: I'm not exactly sure, but I believe this was the episode you were referring to? View video or visit this recipe, Jamaican Jerk Pit Chicken, from Martin's BBQ Joint in Nolensville, TN - Porkapalooza.
Let us know if we got it right? If not, we'll do more research for you. :-)
-------------------------------------------------------
Deb in Phoenix wondered, "Why doesn't Guy eat eggs?"
Our answer: It's a food preference. Guy enjoys eggs as an ingredient in a dish, just not as the main feature of a dish. He also doesn't care for organ meats, nor sweet chocolates.
-------------------------------------------------------
Miriam from Michegan asked, "on November 14, 2011 you went to a dinner that served macaronni & cheese, I would like her recipe please, thank you"
Our answer: I believe you're referring to Monica May, at the Nickel Diner in Los Angeles, CA - Blast From the Past. Check the video on YouTube to be sure we got the right place?
If so, her mac & cheese recipe has not been made available on FoodNetwork.com. We'd suggest contacting the restaurant directly. Best of luck! And let us know how it goes?

He had the red Camaro with him, along with a yellow 2011 Camaro SS, at the 555 Triangle in Birmingham this August – and even has eight more GM cars at home!"
GM also asked Guy how he developed this passion for the bowtie brand, and he said, "Chevy’s always led the way. The way it looks, the way it all ties together. Chevy’s always just been the coolest."

The "Great Bike Giveaway" is just part of what is sure to be one of the most fun-filled Phantoms games of the season. Food Network personality Guy Fieri will be in attendance and drop the ceremonial first puck that night and also host a competition at the first intermission.
This is Guy's second appearance at a Phantoms' game. Both he and Joey Fatone made an appearance in 2009.

The Simpsons to spoof FoodTV
Looks like Guy Fieri is joining the ranks of Wolfgang Puck, Gordon Ramsay, Colonel Sanders and the Swedish Chef in an upcoming episode of "The Simpsons." www.tvline.com shared this sneak peek look at "The Food Wife," due to air on Fox November 13, 2011.
In the episode, Marge Simpson starts blogging about Homer's favorite food with Bart and Lisa — "the blue-haired matriarch is the one whose flight of fancy features the guest voices (and yellowed faces) of Mario Batali, Anthony Bourdain and Gordon Ramsay (among others)."

Fan questions, October 2011
I've added a new page to this blog, Have a Question? At the end of each month, I'll share what fans are asking and what answers I could find for them. [Some answers are edited for brevity. ~D]
Angelan from Vero Beach asked, "Why does Guy not eat fried eggs??? Thanks"
Our answer: Guy isn't fond of eggs. He'll use them as an ingredient, but not as a dish by itself. He also doesn't care for chocolate! And says "no way" to liver. :)
---------------------------------------
Jeanie of Freeport asked, "I would like to know where Guy got the giant IPOD on his wall and are they available to purchase?"
Our answer: It's called a Virtuo Smartjuke, by Touchtunes. But they don’t sell to private consumers; their product is for places that play music such bars, clubs, etc.
---------------------------------------
Gaylen of Minneapolis wrote, "Near the end of one of your recent shows, you filmed a strange looking dog staring through a window. I never laughed so hard! Love your sense of humor. Please let me know the name of the episode."
Our answer: Well shoot! I must have missed that one. But you're right, Page Productions did enjoy slipping a little humorous anecdote into the last moments of the show. Always fun. Maybe another reader remembers the episode? Please comment!
---------------------------------------
Mark wondered, "how to get up with somebody who is in charge about the bbq sauce had problem with it and want to report it"
Our answer: I'd definitely start with the store management where you bought it. The BBQ sauces and salsas are produced by Gia Russa. If you have questions regarding ingredients, finding a product locally or packaging, contact them by phone at (800) 527-8772.
---------------------------------------
Hillary from San Antonio wrote, "Why does Guy not wear a wedding ring in the shows from 2011? My husband and I both look for it on every show he does and in 2007 on DDD he is wearing a ring then on shows form 2011 DDD he does not? Also in his normale cooking show he is not wearing a ring?"
Our answer: If it's the ring I think you're referring to, it is not a wedding ring. It's a college graduation ring that Guy bought for himself while still living in Las Vegas. Sometimes he wore it on his left hand 3rd finger, sometimes not.
---------------------------------------
Abbey from Houston asked, "How do I sign-up for tailgate warriors? I have a father daughter team that really wants to be on the show!"
Our answer: Tailgate Warriors was produced by Page Productions. Due to the recent fallout between them and Guy Fieri, that show is not currently in production. If it is ever picked up by another production company, we'll sure post about it!
