Guy Fieri - on deep frying a turkey

How NOT to Deep Fry a Turkey, a video from the Guy Fieri Road Show, 2009. The video is a bit grainy, but the story is hilarious. Enjoy.

Instead, may we suggest these alternate methods of preparing turkey for your holiday meals?

Mean Green Turkey Machine - brine a 12 to 14 pound turkey with kosher salt, agave syrup, red pepper flakes, garlic, black peppercorns and a bay leaf. Then place a spicy, green pepper mixture between the skin and meat of the turkey. Stuff the cavity with onion, cilantro and lime, and roast.

Ale-Brined Roasted-Turkey Sandwich with Red-Pepper Pesto - Brine a 2 1/2 to 3 pound turkey breast in beer, coarse-grain dijon mustard, Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper. Roast, and prepare a pesto with red bell peppers, basil, garlic, parmesan cheese, pine nuts, anchovy paste and spices.

Maple Bourbon Brined Turkey Legs - Brine turkey legs with maple syrup, garlic, spices and herbs, and roast.

Jimbo's Hambo with Grilled Fruit Salsa - Or consider a ham? This recipe is inspired by Guy Fieri's father, Jim Ferry, who, we are told, is also a great cook.
