From Brandi
Guy Fieri was like most kids growing up - loved his parents and hated their cooking. “My parents were into macrobiotic cooking - vegetarian, nondairy, whole grains, no red meat,” the Food Network star told People in a recent interview.
While most kids rebel by skipping curfew or drinking, Fieri acted out by cooking. “I started cooking when I was 10 because I just couldn’t eat that stuff,” he says. His rebellion even includes a tattoo that reads “Kulinary Gangsta.”
(Fieri) gets the entire family involved when he’s in the kitchen (which due to shooting schedules is only about one-third the year). His kids help prepare recipes like deep-fried s’mores [see recipe below ~D], four-bean salad, barbecue, pizza, sushi or Hunter’s spaghetti and meatballs.
He admits the food isn’t as wholly nutritious as the natural diet he grew up on, but argues food is “so much more than nutrients. We all have an emotional connection to food. Why not use that to connect to our children?”

S'MORE EGGROLL - as featured in this month's People magazine
Courtesy Guy Fieri
12 egg roll wrappers
24 marshmallows, large
4 1.55 ounce Chocolate bars
2 eggs
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup graham cracker crumbs, about 3 crackers crushed in resealable bag
1 quart canola oil
In a deep steep sided pan, heat oil to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. In a small bowl, beat egg. Separate chocolate bar pieces. Take an egg roll wrapper, dip one side in egg wash, lay on work surface, egg side up, place four pieces of chocolate in center and top with two marshmallows, taking care not to tear the egg roll wrapper, this can cause roll to leak while cooking. If tear occurs, pinch together until sealed or discard wrap and use a new one. Roll up burrito style and set aside, seam side down. Repeat until all are rolled.
When oil is hot, add in four eggrolls carefully, turn almost immediately, cooking on all sides to just golden brown, drain on paper towel lined plate and repeat until all cooked, make sure to check your oil temperature between additions.
When ready to serve, dust with powdered sugar and graham cracker crumbs. Serve immediately, but caution very hot!

I WANT ONE OF THOSE TATS THATS TOO COOL!!!!!1
I think if he wants to expand his audience to appeal to more than college frat boys, he needs to learn to use proper English and grammar. "Gangsta" just isn't a nice word, and I know he went to college, so he should know better.
LOL "kulinary" isn't even a word. Evidently, he wasn't an English major in college, hmm?
In any case, he was inked way before he got on tv, so what's done is done. Chalk it up to the folly of rebellious youth and just cook the man's food.
