Expect new things from "Minute to Win It"

Guy Fieri finished taping the third round of "Minute to Win It" episodes last month. First block was in January 2010 (the series premiered in March), second in April and third in May, and with each new production, we see fresh changes in the show.

Expect new games - there will be 85 "Minute to Win It" games by the time these episodes air.

And expect a few changes to the rules. With these newest episodes, there are two more levels in which a contestant may choose to bank their money. Contestants can now pocket their $1000 winnings, $50,000 (was always the case) and now $250,000.

They'll also have some two-player games with an added drama factor: the two players are strangers, not a team. Further, no one player out of the two may play more than three games back-to-back. After the third game, their partner must play the next one no matter what.

More drama factor: “Minute to Win It” will explore contestants' personal back-stories; another proposal and a surprise family reunion are reported. "It’s not a game show," Guy Fieri said at one taping, "it’s a life-changing show".

We'll also see the return of a previous champion.

And this just in ... Zoo Entertainment announced recently they will release "Minute to Win It," the play-at-home version, on Nintendo Wii and DS platforms in November 2010, for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

Can you say Christmas presents? :)
