Here's a round-up of recent Guy Fieri news articles ....

The Asbury Park Press reviewed Guy Fieri's cooking demo at Brookdale College in Linden, NJ. "It's been a journey to get here but well worth it," Guy said.

"Before starting to cook his all-star steak sandwich," the article reads, "Fieri said he was recently in Arkansas, flew home to spend seven hours with his sons, and flew straight to New Jersey."

"'Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives started in your state,' he said to loud applause, before getting the show going with his assistant 'Cuban Carl.'"

Alabama's Press Register reported on the recent Gulf Shores "Supper in the Sand," hosted by Guy Fieri.

"You can be the greatest chef in the world, you can have the best recipes, you can work with the most phenomenal people, but if you don’t have great product, then you don’t deliver the real deal," Fieri said. "This is where the great product comes from."

And in Sacramento, CA law-making news, the Capitol Weekly reports that,
...Guy Fieri is also looking for a change in state law to allow sponsorship from alcohol makers. Assemblywoman Fiona Ma, a San Francisco Democrat, has been working with him on legislation, which has yet to be introduced.

"Negotiators of the deal say the bill will allow Fieri to accept sponsorships but none of their products can be sold in Fieri’s restaurants.

  1. Recently attended the 2011 Food and Wine Festival in Atlantic City. It was the most disappointing event I ever attended.

    Guy's Cheesesteak battle was not what was expected based on the promotions.
    With a name like "Guy Fieri's Cheesesteak Battle", assumed 2 things: (1) It would be a "battle" like iron chef or chopped and (2) Guy Fieri would actually be there...like a host or MC. Neither of which were true.

    Event was outside in 90 degree heat, it was muggy and started raining. You had to wait in overcrowded lines and walk through grass patches which turned to mud. .

    Tickets cost $80 which would not be bad for a 3 hr event/show, INDOORS, with Food Network quality chefs...but that is not what this event was. Cheesesteaks were from sub-par establishments and chain restaurants. Lee's Hoagies had the best steak and it was about a 6 on a scale of 1-10 for anyone who has ever eaten a real philly steak.

    I read online reviews that said Guy eventually showed up and graced the crowd with his presence for about ten mins. Thanks for "big-timing" everyone Guy....we won't forget this one.

    Walked through the grand market the next day and it wasn't much better..no real food, just salsa and olive oil tastings. But at least it was air conditioned and alcohol was easy to obtain.
