On March 6, 2010, Guy Fieri hosted a fund raising event for his friend, Lisa Thompson. The party was held at the Chrome Lotus in Santa Rosa, CA. Friends Raising Funds has raised over $80,000 for Lisa and her family, to offset medical costs resulting from her fight to win the battle over brain cancer.Pre-sale tickets to the event were sold out. From their Facebook page, Jen Rota, spokeswoman for Friends Raising Funds wrote,
"I am SO pleased to say that Saturday night was HUGE success!!!! So far we have raised $81000.00!!!!!!!!!!!! With more money coming in and more awesome items to put up on Ebay, we are getting close to our goal!! I want to thank everyone that was a part of helping us at FRF as well as all the krew :-)"
Besides Guy Fieri's appearance at the fund raiser, one of the biggest draws for the event was the raffle for a Guy Fieri-inspired Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Tickets for the bike were sold at Northern California retailers and also available to purchase by mail.John Gordon won the motorcycle; his wife bought him tickets for his stocking on Christmas.
