When Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives first hit the Food Network in April of 2007, Guy Fieri slipped into pop culture with his 30-second promo spot for the show - ordering from a diner waitress completely in diner speak.
Here's a link to the
video of that commercial.
According to
Wikipedia:
Adam & Eve on a raft - two poached eggs on toast
Shingle with a shimmy and a shake - buttered toast with jam or jelly, hence the reference to 'shake'.
Zeppelins in a fog - sausages and mashed potatoes
Pin a rose on it - add onion to an order
Given the opportunity, I'll order a Bossy in a bowl, Eve with a lid on and a Blonde with sand, and I'm good.
